We are Quest Coffee Roasters, a long established high volume espresso bar and organic coffee roastery with a loyal community following in Burleigh Heads and the Gold Coast. We sell coffee beans and products in store, online, and wholesale. We are known for our top quality coffee, epic toasties, delicious in house baked cakes and treats, and friendly cafe service.
We are looking for a Barista / Day Manager to join our team!
Position: Barista / Day manager
Hours: 38+ hours/week (Initial casual with consideration for full time role)
Schedule: Between 4:45am and 5pm
Rate: $34.00 to $37.00 / hr + Super, Bonuses, and Penalty Rates
Location: Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast, QLD

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Day Management – Opening and closing the cafe, managing inventory, ordering supplies, and efficiently running the day shift on some days.
- Team happiness and effectiveness: Oversee training, rostering, and hiring to maintain a motivated cafe team.
- High-quality standards: Ensure top-tier food, drink, and cleanliness standards in all operations.
- Shift management and process improvement: Run shifts efficiently, and implement new processes to optimise workflow.
- Grow the recurring customer base and a high Google rating from their experience
- Maintaining and enforcing high quality standards across restaurant operations in food, drink, and cleanliness.
- Ordering and managing day to day inventory.
- Lead by example: Set the standard for the team and ensure high-quality work.
- Barista and food handling: Participate in barista and food handling duties as needed.
- Customer experience: Continuously uplift the customer experience with a welcoming atmosphere and high service standards.
ABOUT YOU
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- 1 or more years of recent experience as a day or cafe manager
- 2 or more years experience as a barista
- Strong listening and verbal communication skills
- A strong understanding of health and safety
NICE TO HAVE
- Certification in Hospitality or related industry.
- Baking or food handling experience.
- Marketing / photography / or writing experience
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Australian citizen or resident with an appropriate long term visa to work in Australia
- Availability to work at least 1 weekend day
- Availability to work shifts from 4:45am to 3:00pm weekdays, and between hours 5am to 5pm on weekends.
- Loves coffee and tea
- Own transport to and from work
