Banksy Bar & Kitchen is a modern cafe and espresso bar in Broadbeach, Gold Coast. We serve sit-down brunch and dinner (dine-in and takeaway) and pour organic coffee roasted by Quest Coffee Roasters. Dinner service is currently Fridays and Saturdays. We’re committed to excellence, with strict quality standards and a clean, well-equipped kitchen that is looking to find a short term chef for this Broadbeach role.
We’re hiring an experienced Chef on a short-term basis (up to 6 months).
There will be a full-time hours block between 3 November and 27 November 2025.
An extension beyond 6 months is possible for the right person.
Position: Short-Term Chef (Casual, with full-time hours during 3–27 Nov 2025)
Open to discussing fixed-term arrangements for the right candidate.
Hours: Typically 15–24 hrs/week outside the November block; full-time hours (approx. 38-40 hrs / week) during 3 – 27 Nov 2025
Schedule: Flexible based on experience and interest e.g. brunch, dinners, weekends, or assisting with baking and prep.
Rate: $35.00 to $37.00 / hr + Super, Bonuses, and Penalty Rates
Location: Broadbeach, Gold Coast, QLD
Responsibilities
- Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of sweet and savoury dishes.
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly.
- Safety & Sanitation: Enforce food safety, sanitation regulations, and maintain a safe work environment.
About You
Professional Requirements
- 3+ years’ recent experience as a Cook or Chef
- Strong listening and verbal communication skills
- Sound knowledge of health & safety and food hygiene
Personal Requirements
- Valid Australian work rights (including Working Holiday visa holders) for the entire engagement period
- Availability to work 2 weekend days per week if required
- Loves high quality food
- Own transport to and from work
Nice to have
- Professional cookery, chef, or food science certification or degree.
- Baking experience.
